A Fabric Lament

I almost did it. I almost purchased fabric online.

Gorgeous Fabrics has this fabric on sale and I went through all the steps of ordering three yards of it (I'm thinking about a gored full skirt for next summer). Then at the last moment I looked at the total. The amount that I saw listed and thought was my total price was actually just the shipping price! The shipping was going to cost more than the fabric!

I just couldn't do it. Bleh.

OMG! That's my fabric! Look at my blog for how I made it up:

I got mine from Fabric.com and they ship free. You might check them and see if they still have some. Mine's a more subdued, sage green, but it's worth a couple of clicks.

I'm from Canada too, Calgary, and i ordered some fabric from Gorgeous fabrics once, and the shipping was much more than the fabric. Sadly, I can't afford to order again. I don't have a blog, but perhaps you can ask your readers to help compile a list of Canadian mail-order fabrics. I've found a few great ones, but they're all for sportswear or diaper fabrics. Also, it would be nice to start a Canadian fabric coop, there's a few on yahoo groups but they're both diaper-related.
